What are the main selling-points of the PG6025?

The Remington PG6025 is an all-in-one lithium powered trimmer that is available at a very reasonable entry-level price, offering a lot of value and a great shave for the price. The PG6025 is designed for consumers rather than professionals, however, it offers a particularly high-quality cut especially for a product designed for use by the public.

The Blades: PG6025 Review

As with any trimmer the most important factor is how well the blades cut through your hair. The blades on the PG6025 are self-sharpening , professional-grade, steel blades that are designed to last for many years to come. These blades are becoming standard across all trimmers because they offer an incredibly powerful cutting action whilst weighing comparatively little, this ensures that the trimmer is still lightweight and comfortable to use.

Accessories

It comes fully stocked with 8 attachments: a full-size trimmer, nose, ear and detail trimmer, foil shaver, comb with 8 length options, 3 beard and stubble combs.

This ensures that regardless of what style you’re looking for you’ll be able to do it all with the Remington PG6025. These attachments are all washable - just rinse them in the sink to clean them.

Both the attachments and the model itself are finished with a sleek black plastic. This does look cheap but it feels stronger than it looks and is easy to wash. On the front of the trimmer you’ll notice a vibrant green light, this indicates how much more power the trimmer has which is handy to know when to charge it. Above, you’ll find a silver power button which you can use to turn the trimmer on and off. The trimmer is shaped such that there are two large indents, one on each side, these contour slightly to your hand to allow a safe grip. The material within these indents appears to be slightly gripped to ensure that you don’t slip when you’re using it.

Trimmer Design

In our opinion the trimmer isn’t very attractive and the design seems a bit over the top. Remington would have been better off to stick to the standard design that many other companies have used, this design is already behind the times.

Regardless, the look of the trimmer isn’t of much importance. So far we’ve concluded that it performs its job excellently and that is what most customers are bothered about.

Powered by a Lithium-ion Battery

Remington boasts that the PG6025 is powered by a lithium battery that can charge quickly and last for longer than many competitors. This is the second most crucial factor in any trimmer, nobody wants their trimmer running out of power halfway through shaving!

With this battery, one full charge charge will give you 50 - 60 minutes of shaving time which is roughly enough for 6 full shaves. Lithium-ion batteries are the new industry standard because they allow you to charge them quickly and they hardly lose any charge.

This model is completely cordless and therefore would make an ideal trimmer for when you travel. For most of us, 60 minutes of shaving will last for any normal length trip and therefore you shouldn’t even need to take the charger with you.

Should you forget to charge your trimmer you’ll be able to charge it for just 5 - 10 minutes and have more than enough power for a full-shave.

Any disappointments?

One of the biggest disappointments for us was that the Remington PG6025 is not waterproof, whilst that likely isn’t important to most people, some of us prefer to trim in the shower. If we could make any changes to the product then making it waterproof would be the first, closely followed by a change to the appearance of the product.

However, once you stop complaining about small problems you’ll look at the price again and forget that you had any issues to begin with. It’s really not fair on Remington for us to complain, they’ve done an excellent job just to create a trimmer that can sell at this price point, let alone one that performs so excellently.

Don’t be misled, this isn’t going to perform the same as a $80 Wahl trimmer , but it’s also only going to cost a fraction of the price. What this Remington model does offer it supreme value and an entry-level trimmer for the average user looking to improve their look.

As well as the accessories and groomer you’ll also get a small carry-bag. This is a nice addition for those of us who travel and since the entire package only weighs around one pound, you’ll be able to find space for it in your luggage.

In conclusion, the PG6025 is a top contender at this price-point. When you’re looking to buy a trimmer for less than $30 you’re going to be limited in what you can find, but Remington have been able to exceed expectations and create a trimmer that competes above its pay-grade. For those of us who are only willing to spend this much on a groomer there is little alternative, this is the top model.
