Braun Series 7 760cc Review: The Smaller Brother

Braun Series 7 760cc

The 760cc is the younger brother of the 790cc. It's a slightly cheaper model, the only difference is that it doesn't have a 'fast clean' mode. The 760cc is an excellent shaver.

The Braun Series 7 760cc is the younger brother of the 790cc , it has almost all of the same features except for some minuscule differences on the cleaning station. The main difference is that the 790 has a fast clean feature on the station which allows you to quickly clean and lubricate the blades if you forgot to do it the day before. Honestly, if the price difference is large then you’ll be better to buy the 760 instead of the 790 .

Design and Features of the 760cc

The shaver itself is incredibly good looking, it has a sleek black handle with a silver head and cap at the bottom. Towards the bottom you’ll find a small blue LED which contains the power button, when it’s on the light shines an electric blue LED to let you know that it’s on. Below the power button there is a negative and a positive sign, these buttons can be used to decrease and increase the speed of the shaving blades.

At the bottom of the shaver there is a colorful screen which will show you how much battery power you have left in the shaver and when it needs to be cleaned too. This is really useful.

Above the power button there is a textured group of ‘waves’ that if pushed upwards on will flick out the trimmer. Unfortunately, the trimmer flips out at a 90-degree angle. As we’ve mentioned before in these reviews , the 90-degree trimmers are annoying. The angle makes it very difficult to see what you’re doing and therefore makes it almost possible.

Blades and Shaving Head

The shaving head on the 760cc is the same as the 790cc , it’s a traditional foil shaver that all Braun shavers have. It’s complete with an “activelift” trimmer that can lift up the hairs which are lying flat to your skin, allowing them to be cut instead of left alone.

As well, it also comes with two sets of “OptiFoil” blades which are able to cut the hair as short as 0.05mm, giving one of the closest shaves possible from an electric shaver.

The Series 7 comes with intelligent sonic technology. What this technology does is it senses the density of your facial hair at each point and increases or decreases the power of the blades automatically. This ensures that the hair is cut evenly, using up to 10,000 micro-vibrations per minute to cut all of the hair even when it’s very thick.

The head itself is 8D, flexing in 8-directions to contour comfortably to your face. This allows the blades to maintain skin contact at all times, preventing you from missing any hair. The great part about that is that it reduces the amount of times you have to go over the same spot, reducing irritation for those people with sensitive skin.

Clean&Charge Station

As with the 790cc , the 760cc also comes with the “Clean&Charge” station that is able to clean, lubricate and charge your shaver. It’s also able to automatically choose a cleaning program and dry your shaver, making your shaver feel brand new every morning.

The cleaning station uses an alcohol-based cleaning solution that is able to destroy 99.9% of bacteria and makes the shaver hygienic to use. The cleaning unit is made out of black sleek plastic and has some electric blue LED’s that match the power button on the shaver.

It has multiple indicator lights that are designed to tell you how much water is left in the station and when the cleaning cartridges need changing.

Braun Series 7 760cc Review: Conclusion

Overall, the 760cc is an amazing shaver that delivers a fantastically close shave. It could be considered overpriced, but the shaver itself is gorgeous and the final shave it great. As with most of Braun’s products , the build-quality is excellent and the 760cc is likely to last for years.
